Castle Pines, CO neighborhoods - The Village, The Canyons, Castle Pines North and Castle Valley

Here's something most buyers don't realize until they start touring: "Castle Pines" isn't one neighborhood—it's several, each with a distinct personality, price range, and lifestyle. Choosing the right one is just as important as choosing the right house. This guide breaks down the major Castle Pines, CO communities so you can zero in on where you belong before you ever step inside a home.

The Village at Castle Pines

The guard-gated Village at Castle Pines is the community most people picture when they think "Castle Pines luxury." Spanning roughly 2,800 acres with about 1,800 custom and estate homes, it offers a level of privacy and prestige that's hard to match in the Denver metro—five staffed entry gates, security patrols, and homesites tucked among mature pines at 6,200 to 6,800 feet of elevation.

Inside the gates you'll find two private golf courses (including the nationally ranked Castle Pines Golf Club), the Canyon Club with fitness, pools, and tennis, more than a dozen miles of private trails, and several parks.

  • Approximate price range (2026): Entry homes start around $1.2M–$1.8M, updated estates run $1.8M–$3M, and custom trophy properties reach $5M–$8M and beyond. Homesites are large—often half an acre to several acres.
  • HOA: Roughly $3,000–$5,000 per year (golf memberships are separate).
  • Best for: Buyers who prioritize privacy, security, acreage, and a golf-and-country-club lifestyle.

The Canyons

On the east side of I-25, The Canyons is Castle Pines' newest chapter—a 1,270-acre Shea Homes master-planned community with new construction and some of the best amenities in south Denver. Roughly a third of the community is dedicated to open space, including a large regional park.

The lifestyle here is built around the Canyon House clubhouse (fitness, a restaurant, game room, and fire pit), a resort-style pool, "The Exchange" coffee house, 15+ miles of trails, pickleball, parks, and an event lawn. A Life Time athletic country club is also being added to the community.

Shea Homes offers several floor-plan collections at a wide range of price points (approximate, 2026):

  • Portrait: ~$756K–$998K
  • Reserve (ranch plans): ~$787K–$999K
  • Gallery: ~$805K–$1.28M
  • Retreat (ranch plans): ~$922K–$1.25M
  • Luxe: ~$1.06M–$1.6M

Best for: Move-up families and professionals who want a new build with heavy amenities, plus empty-nesters drawn to the main-floor ranch and patio-home plans.

City of Castle Pines & Castle Pines North

West of I-25, the established side of town—often referred to as Castle Pines North—is where you'll find the community's more attainable homes. Built from the 1980s onward, these neighborhoods offer mature landscaping, a wide mix of lot sizes, and plenty of resale inventory.

Sub-neighborhoods here include Buffalo Ridge, Hidden Pointe, The Retreat, Canterbury Park, Bramble Ridge, Daniel's Ridge, and Whisper Canyon, among others.

  • Approximate price range (2026): ~$700K–$1.5M—the most attainable way into Castle Pines.
  • Best for: Families and buyers who want the Castle Pines schools, trails, and lifestyle without Village-level pricing, and who prefer established resale homes over new construction.

Castle Valley and other options

A couple of other communities round out the market. Castle Valley (formerly Lagae Ranch) is a newer development bringing additional single-family and multifamily homes—and more attainable price points—to the area, along with open space and a future school site. Separately, The Ridge at Castle Pines North is a public Tom Weiskopf course on Castle Pines Parkway, and the established homes around it offer golf-adjacent living in roughly the $700K–$1.5M range with no club membership required. (A common point of confusion: the Country Club at Castle Pines is a separate, private Jack Nicklaus club located inside the Village gates, not its own community.)
